Dogame is a company committed to providing the best gaming experience for users around the world. We were thrilled to participate in the IAB PlayFronts 2023 event in New York City on March 8 and 9. The conference offered a great opportunity for industry experts to share insights and discuss the current state of advertising in gaming.
With over 3 billion gamers worldwide, gaming has become a global phenomenon and is now bigger than the movie and music industries combined. The conference highlighted the importance of gaming and its impact on shaping different generations and cultures.
IAB Playfronts 2023 featured a range of speakers who discussed the current state of advertising in gaming and explored the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. One of the most interesting insights we gained from the event was the diverse audience of gamers. Contrary to popular belief, gaming is not just for teenage boys. In fact, 46% of gamers are female, and the average age of a gamer is 33 years old. This highlights the importance of creating games that cater to a diverse audience.
Another significant insight was the amount of time gamers spend playing games. On average, gamers spend 13 hours per week playing games, underscoring the importance of creating games that provide a great user experience and keep players engaged for longer periods of time.
This year, IAB Playfronts also explored new ways to advertise alongside gaming, including esports integrations, immersive experiences in AAA games and popular platforms like Roblox and Samsung Gaming Console, and creator-focused marketing campaigns. There were also sessions focused on challenges in the gaming advertising industry, including the slow pace of allocating marketing budgets towards gaming, how brands can better protect brand safety in games, and best practices for collaborating games and brands.
The Playfront experience wouldn't be wholesome or complete without actual gaming fun. Dogamers stumbled upon a Pacman machine in the showroom and challenged each other to see who could get the highest score. We had a blast playing and competing at IAB Playfronts.
