At Dogame, we're always on the lookout for opportunities to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to app growth and user acquisition. That's why we were excited to attend the App Growth Summit (AGS) in New York City on March 31st, 2023. The event was a fantastic opportunity to network with other industry professionals, learn from experts, and share our own insights.
The AGS NYC featured an impressive lineup of speakers, including representatives from Jackpocket, Life360, MobilityWare, BigBrain, AppsFlyer and more. We were particularly interested in the sessions on app store optimization, growth strategy, in-app purchase optimization, and app user retention & engagement. The fireside chat shared by Benjamin Burgess from Life360 was also a highlight for us. He shared his experience on how to design the high-visibility AB tests for ASO -- always testing the icon color to see the impact and get buy-in from the leadership team. He also discussed the art of localization to create a global impact by tapping into the latest trends and news in key local markets.
One of the key takeaways from the event was the importance of data-driven decision-making. In the ever-evolving world of app growth and user acquisition, it's essential to gather and analyze data to optimize your strategies. For example, after knowing 80% of daily active users (DAU) are lost during the first 3 days after installing a game and 25% of games are played only once, it has become critical and essential to carefully analyze and improve the player's onboarding experience and initial UI & UX in the game app in order to increase the retention and engagement of the app users.
Moreover, we got great tips and tactics on how to convert one-time purchases or free-trial users to longer-term subscribers. Besides giving our promotions and incentives, it's important to earn users' trust by providing a great experience and proving the value proposition of the app before asking users to spend more money on the app.
AGS NYC wasn't just about learning, though. We had the opportunity to connect with industry professionals, network with the leading vendors from around the world, exchange ideas, and build relationships that we hope will lead to future collaborations. It was great to meet so many like-minded individuals who are passionate about the app industry.
Overall, AGS NYC was an incredible event and experience that left us feeling energized and inspired. We're excited to apply our newfound knowledge and insights to our work at Dogame, and we look forward to attending AGS NYC next year.
